This diagram shows God’s Theocracy.

Eph. 4:11:  “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;”

Oval: Holy Spirit

This is not operational within the Body of Christ now.  We see either: (1) One person in charge calling or making the decisions, or (2) A board of directors determining God’s Will by a majority-rules system.

Theocracy:  (Greek theokratia “government by God”), constitution, or polity, of a country in which God is regarded as the sole sovereign and the laws of the realm are seen as divine commandments. (Which in the New Testament is the Law of Agape’ Love)

Dictatorship:  Title of a magistrate in ancient Rome, appointed by the Senate in times of emergency, and ratified by the comitia curiata.  The dictator held office usually for six months and served as chief magistrate of the state, with limited power over life and death.  Civil jurisdiction was retained by regular magistrates who were subordinate to him and his military jurisdiction was limited to Italian territory.  According to the Roman orator, statesman, and philosopher Cicero, the office was originally created to cope with civil disturbances. In modern times those who have assumed sole power over the state have been called dictators.  (This is seen in many independent “church” groups.)

Democracy:  (Greek demos, “the people”; krarein, “to rule”), political system in which the people of a country rule through any form of government they choose to establish.  In modern democracies supreme authority is exercised for the most part by representatives elected by popular suffrage.  The electorate according to the legal procedures of recall and referendum may supplant the representatives, and they are, at least in principle, responsible to the electorate.  (As seen in the denominational “church”.)

God’s design for the Church is Theocracy.  We see this in operation in the early Church in Acts chapters 1– 4.  Since that time, however, two other satanically insidious systems were introduced to the Church: democracy and dictatorship.

In God’s Theocracy we see the flow of direction and rule flowing from Jesus to the Body of Christ through the Holy Spirit.

·        The Apostles and Prophets are the foundation layers of the church.  Eph. 2:20:  “And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;”

·        The Five-Fold ministry group or a team.  No one gift of the five is to be elevated or revered more than another.  Theocracy accounts these to be a plurality of leadership.  We see major abuse of leadership today in the gift of pastor.

·        The Church must be built on God’s revealed Word.  Mat. 16:17-18:  “And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.  And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

·        Appoint and ordain elders.  Acts 14:23: “And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.”

Take these things to the Father and ask Him for direction.  Spend time in His Presence.  Allow Him to give you His specific plan.   Do not devise your own plan or copy what someone else does.  You must receive His revelation for yourself.  But you MUST establish Theocracy in the group to which you have koinonia fellowship.  This is not an option.

True Theocracy

Jesus said in Mat. 6:33:  “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”  Our first and primary endeavor is to seek or earnestly desire His way of doing things.  He points us to Theocracy, but the current church administration makes this an unattainable ideal.

Theocracy is derived from two Greek words, which mean rule by the Deity and is the name given to a political regime that is to represent the Divine on earth.

Man has attempted since the fall of Adam to set up a Theocracy, but with little success.  Within his wisdom and understanding man established a political system that became incomprehensible to human understanding: instead God must reveal it to him.  Flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God.  It must be spiritually discerned.  God wants to be the One in whom we move, live and have our being.

1 Cor. 2:14:  “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

1 Cor. 15:50:  “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.”

From man’s perspective, true theocratic rule planned by God to be in existence after Jesus became the Chief cornerstone never materialized.  Man overlooked the only encapsulated view of Theocracy we have.  Read Acts 2:1 - Acts 4:37.  This is the only view we have of true Theocracy.  For after Acts 4:37 beginning in Acts 5:1 we see the enemy entered in and tainted what was pure with the seed of fear (terror).  Gal.5: 9:  “A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.”

Jesus said He would build His Church upon the rock of Revelation.  We see this happening in the first few chapters of Acts.  The leaven of fear spoiled the entire lump.  Over the years we have seen the Church become the church.  Man’s attempt to build the Church shifted from Revelation to human plans and understanding, from Rock to sand.

The Body of Christ is segmented and ruled by dictatorship or by democracy.  Neither of these is God’s designed Theocracy.  After the Ananias and Sapphria incident described in Acts 5 God sent a set of five gifts to the church: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers to bring the church back to the Church.  His purpose for these gifts was to bring the saints to a mature position with the Lord, to be intimately connected to Him and for us to grow up and no longer need the five gifts.

God’s purpose through these gifts was to reestablish Theocracy.  This can and must be done.  The KEY is not to use our wisdom and understanding.  Human wisdom puffs up and leaves the door open for pride to enter.  When pride enters the focus becomes man’s ministry and we do not focus on all members of one Body with all things common, which is the foundation of the New Testament.

What do we do?  If we listed the how-to we would be guilty of the very thing we point out - building on something less than Revelation from the Lord.  The Lord has revealed what we are to do.  They are God ideas to us but without Revelation, to anyone else, imitating what we have done would be only a good idea.

Go to the Lord yourself and ask Him.  He will tell you specifically what He would have you do.  The important thing is for you is do whatever He tells you, without hesitation.  He wants to have an intimate relationship with you more than you want it with Him.  You won’t be disappointed.

In the Beginning

In Genesis 1 we see that God established and set in motion His plan for creation.  He then began the most imaginative and powerful part of creation, which was the creation of a being made after His likeness and in His own image. God is a spirit.  He created man in His image.  Adam was complete because God is complete.  In Genesis 1:27 we read: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  Then in verse 28: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion….” These verses have been read many times and contain an astonishing Truth which lies concealed, waiting to be revealed.

Note these absolutes:

·        Man is made in God’s image.

·        Man is made after God’s very likeness.

·        Man was created both male and female.

·        God called man them (male and female).

·        God’s blessed them (blessed = to kneel as an act of adoration, to kneel (down), praise, salute).  He adored them as we adore our newborn child.

·        God gave them a command: Be fruitful (cause to be) and multiply (to increase and bring in abundance), replenish (bring to fullness) the earth, and subdue it (bring into subjection), and have dominion (reign or rule over).

God commanded man to be fruitful and multiply.  It was possible for Adam to obey.  This fact is significant because at this point in time man’s helpmeet was not yet made.  We know that man’s body was not formed yet for that came to pass in Genesis 2:7.  One must grasp this important fact that man, in his original created state, was commanded to multiply.  Being in the likeness of God, Adam could also create.  Reproduction was something he could accomplish.  Man was complete in the ‘them’ state just as God is complete.  In Genesis 1:26 God said, Let us make which demonstrates His completeness as the Trinity.  Adam (man) was made in that same likeness, complete.  This is a view of the Divine Nature that Peter wrote about in 2 Peter 1:5.

You will need to take this information to the Lord as the gravity of it and its implications are far beyond what your mind can comprehend because it must be spiritually discerned.

The imagination is part of our God-created makeup.  Little has been written on this subject because of fear and lack of understanding.  It is a God-created part of us and we have God’s full permission to use it.  After all, He used His imagination to visualize the end picture of all that He created.

We see a misuse of the imagination that is found in Gen. 11:4-6:  “And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.  And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.  And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”  God never wanted man to build a tower that would reach from earth to heaven.  However, the fact still remains that they could have done this using the God-given imagination, which He placed within every human being.  We read in the next verse, Gen. 11:6: “And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”  Notice that it reads, “Nothing (or no thing) shall be restrained (withheld or kept from) that they have imagined (a function of the soul) to do.  Think about that for a minute.  God Himself said that whatever this group imagines to do, they could cause it to happen.  God confused the language so the people who spoke the same things (in other words, whatever pictures their words created) would not understand each other.  He dissolved their unity.

The devil observed the impact of what God did to the people who were unified.  That is why the devil works so hard to cause disunity in the Body of Christ, in families and churches.  He saw that disunity brings confusion and results in total impotence.

Adam knew of the imagination realm and used it as he carried out the assignments the Lord gave him.  Imagination is rarely used after the fall of man.  It is a good thing because man, in his sinful and fallen state could have easily annihilated the human race long ago.

We must now face a fact: the Lord wants us to know that Jesus became the last Adam and restored us to the same place and position, with all the same abilities of the first Adam.  Ponder that for a moment.    This must be spiritually discerned.  Paul wrote in 1 Cor. 2:9-10:  “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.  The Holy Spirit must reveal these things to our hearts because our minds are unable to comprehend them.  We must walk in these things by faith and to be sure our faith is working by Love.

Many significant changes and events happened to us the moment we made Jesus the Lord of our life.  Jesus said in Mat. 22:30: “For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage…” And Paul wrote in Gal. 3:28:  “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.  Jesus literally made us complete in Him.  Jesus became the last Adam (1 Cor. 15:45) and brought us back to equality with Adam in his spiritual state.  This includes Adam’s ability to create just like God, from whom we get our spiritual DNA.  So as we put on Christ, we walk in the same creative and divine abilities as Jesus.  These are the same creative abilities Adam possessed prior to the fall.

Now you may wonder what this means.   We know prior to the fall Adam was clothed in Glory and had the very nature of God in him (the Divine Nature).  The sense realm did not control Adam.  Adam and Eve were both naked and were not ashamed.  Adam used 100% of his mental capacity.  Adam created names for all the creatures on earth.  He did not use a computer or write down the names of the hundreds of thousands of animals, fish and foul species to insure he didn’t repeat a name.  He did not recall them from past record.  Science indicates today we use approximately 10% of our mental capacity.  There are many other things changed with the fall of man.  Remember Jesus became the last Adam.

·        Jesus Demonstrates Glory

Jesus partook of that Glory when He prayed in John 17:22: “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:” We see that Glory manifested in several accounts.  The same Glory is also in us.

Mat. 14:26:  “And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea…” Walking on water defies the laws of physics.  The density of a human being is greater than the density of water.  Factoring this into the equation, the law of gravity should have pulled Jesus down.  One may say that but this was Jesus.  True, but then He told Peter to come out of the boat and join Him.  Peter obeyed and also walked on the water.

John 6:21: “Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.”  Jesus came to the ship about three miles offshore by walking on the water.  As soon as the crew received Him into the ship, it was immediately transported or translated to the shore.  The laws of physics prohibit this from occurring.  But it nonetheless happened.

Luke 4:30:  “But he passing through the midst of them went his way,” Jesus was in the synagogue speaking of things to come.  The crowd was infuriated with Him.  They grabbed Him with the intention of killing Him by throwing Him over the edge of a cliff.  The Bible says that He passed through the midst of them.  The members of the synagogue knew what He looked like and were in agreement to throw Jesus off the cliff.  Yet He walked away through the middle of the crowd.  Either He became invisible or He walked right through them, not around them.  This defies the laws of physics.

Mat. 14:19:  “And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.”  Jesus taught approximately 15,000 people about the Kingdom of God.  They grew hungry.  When the food inventory only revealed five loaves of bread and two fish, Jesus once again defied the laws of physics and gave thanks to the Father and blessed what they had.  All the people were fed.  There were twelve full baskets of fish left over.

Luke 24:30-31:  “And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.”  Jesus joined His disciples for a meal and conversation.  After eating and conversing Jesus vanished.  How did He vanish?  How did these natural law-defying occurrences happen?  To answer that question we need to look at John 1:14:  “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” and John 2:11: “This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.”  The answer is simple.  Jesus was full of the same Glory that Adam was full of before the fall.  Jesus demonstrated the fullness of that Glory.

·        The Glory in us

In John 17:22 Jesus prayed that the Glory that was in Him also be in us.  Jesus’ prayers were heard and answered by the Father.  The same Glory that was in Jesus and in Adam is seen in Acts chapters 2 – 4 in the Apostles. The Bible says in 1 John 4:17:  “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.”  The disciples exhibited this Word.  Jesus said we would do even greater things than He did.  He is not to be our icon or goal but rather our launching point in this world.

·        What Happened?

In Genesis 3:10 Adam responded to the Lord’s question, “Where art thou?” by saying, “…and I was afraid (filled with terror), because I was naked; and I hid myself.”  Then we read in Acts 5:5, after Ananias lied to the Holy Ghost, Peter said, “Why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Ghost?”  He dropped dead and “great fear came on all them that heard these things.”  In both instances Satan filled them with fear.  Fear and faith are opposites.  Faith pleases God while fear repels Him.  Faith activates God and fear activates Satan.  In the first case fear brought the fall of man – spiritual death that resulted in eternal damnation.  In the second, fear entered the pure Body of Christ and plunged it into spiritual impotency.

The fact is that we, the Body of Christ, have been restored and brought back to the former position of Adam.  Jesus reestablished the link between the physical and spiritual.  We can now walk in the same Glory as Jesus.  Our faith is built from Glory to Glory.  This Truth is meant for all who will believe.  The most important thing you can do after reading this is to go directly to the Lord and ask Him about these things.  Find out from Him what He would have you do.

Imperatives for the Five-Fold

As we pointed out in the article, The Fading Five – Fold the ministry gifts of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher are on a diminishing time-line.  Notice the underlined portion indicates how long these gifts are needed.

Eph. 4:11-13:  “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:”

Jesus called the twelve disciples together made and named them Apostles and sent them out (Matt. 10:1-5).  He taught and equipped them to function in their new role.   Jesus completed His work on the cross and subsequently went to heaven.  He paved the way for the Holy Spirit to come.  When the Holy Spirit came the Church or the Body of Christ was born.  The Body of Christ was an infant that needed care.  God appointed the Apostles to be nannies to the newborn Body of Christ.  Jesus was the Firstborn among many brethren and in becoming so He made it possible for there to be many more people born again.  If you have made Jesus your Lord, you are now one of the many brethren.

The Body of Christ experienced growing pains.  Paul was instructed to list additional gifts to help the Apostles accomplish their assignment.  Referring again to Eph. 4:11-13 it is important to point out that God added ministry gifts to the Church bringing the total to five.  The purpose of these gifts was to perfect or mature the believers.  These gifts are to be in place until we all come to the unity of the faith, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.  At that point the five – fold gifts will no longer be needed.

God’s desire is for the modern church to follow the same plan.  Acts 2:41-42:  “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand soulsAnd they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”    This is how the early church began.

Acts 2:44-47:  “And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

The contemporary church has missed the mark both in the current way it operates and planning for the future.  The calling of God to the five – fold has been prostituted and bought for a price.  The five – fold leaders, primarily pastors, have made advancing their kingdoms (churches) the primary goal, while the followers are caught up in the deception.  It is obvious that the church today does not walk in Agape love even to the degree it did in the infant stage 2,000 years ago.  There are thousands of churches and ministries that have a very large following, but are we any closer to the unity of the faith and walking in the fullness of Christ?  No!  What must we do?  Repent!  We must change our thinking to include what the Bible makes so clear.

One of the foundational components of the Church is found in Eph. 4:11.  The five – fold ministry has been entirely ignored or watered down so much that it is useless.  It is time that all five – fold ministry people heed their directive and start equipping the saints and getting them plugged in to the Body in the place God has ordained them to be.

The Lord spoke this to my heart:  "Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers beware!  If you are not fully devoted to bringing those over whom you have influence to maturity and getting them plugged in to the Body and becoming vital functional members, you are working against My Word...and will be removed!"

Take these things to the Father and ask Him to reveal the Truth to you. He has a specific ministry gift designed for you.  Ask Him to reveal His divine destiny to you.

The Fading Five – Fold

In John 14:6 Jesus said that He would pray the Father and He would send another Comforter who would abide with us forever.  The Word tells us the Holy Spirit is the teacher of the Church.  The Holy Spirit teaching the church results in Revelation knowledge.  This is as Jesus said to Peter in Matthew 16:18: “upon this rock (the rock of revelation) He will build His Church”.  This is the plan designed and implemented by the Father Himself.

In Matthew 10:1-2 we see that Jesus called His twelve disciples together and sent out twelve Apostles: He gave them specific instructions.  He told the Apostles that He had to leave and the Spirit of Truth (the Holy Spirit) would come.

On the day of Pentecost the Church or the Body of Christ was born.  We see the plan and purpose of the Father in the Book of Acts.  As the Gospel of the Kingdom was preached many believed and were saved.  Acts records 3,000 believers at one time and 5,000 in another account.  They became part of the Body.

How do we know they became part of the Body?    We read in Acts 2:44: “And all that believed were together, and had all things common;” and then again in Acts 4:32 we read: “And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.”

The Book of Acts is written to believers.  Thus, when the author writes to those who believed, he referred to a group of people who believed something specific.  You might be a believer reading this article. Some will believe what you have read and, therefore, you are part of those who believe.  Not all believers referred to in the above-mentioned verses believed.

To continue with Acts 2:46-47:  “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

When you read about those who believed you get a sense of much greater unity than you do when you look at the church today or even when you read other parts of the Bible dealing with the church.  There was a tangible bond and unity within the early church.

The Apostles did what Jesus told them to do.  They followed His direction and were guided by the Holy Spirit.  These Apostles did the works that Jesus spoke of in John 14:12:  “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

God finally had a people that would make up the Body of Christ.  This Body was on the earth with Jesus as the Head of the Body.    God’s purpose in appointing the Apostles was to guide them by the Holy Spirit and bring the Body together as a functional unit.  They were to coach the Body and be a nanny to the newborn Body of Christ.

God’s primary plan worked for a while.  Fear entered the church via the Ananias and Sapphira incident.  Saul met the Lord and became Paul.  Paul was trained by the Lord and began to address issues that never should have happened.  In his letter to the Galatians he starts out by asking, “Who has bewitched you?”  That is a pretty strong supposition.  Then he goes on to say in Gal. 3:3:  “Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”  The people stopped depending on Revelation from the Father and attempted to build the church from their understanding.  Fear entered into the believers and the foundation shifted from Jesus the Rock to sand.

The Father prompted Paul in Eph. 4:11 to write “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers.” Now instead of just the Apostles, God added four additional gifts to the Church.  God’s plan was to use these gifts to establish the Body of Christ.  Now the Body had five additional nannies to bring those who believe in Christ to maturity.  When we are brought to maturity the five gifts will not be needed.

As we look around today we see that God’s plan for this five-fold ministry group did not happen.  Quite simply people did not implement these ministry gifts in building the church.  In the church, some give mental assent to the fact that God gave these gifts.  These people do not know who to apply and use the gifts in their church.  However, many do not acknowledge the gifts.    The church suppressed the functioning of these gifts for a variety of reasons:

·        Lack of understanding of how to apply them to the local Body.

·        Current leaders (pastors) are unwilling to relinquish individual control and share equally with the other four ministry gifts as a plurality of leadership.

·        Trying to understand this enablement of God via one’s own understanding instead of Revealed wisdom from the Father.

·        Lack of Agape Love for God’s people.

·        No Revealed understanding from the Father that all these gifts are essential for the Body to enjoy a well-balanced spiritual diet.

·        Lack of understanding that the spirit of the believer needs to be strengthened and the Revealed knowledge is how the spirit is fed.

We need to have the five-fold ministry working as God designed in the Body of Christ.  God’s purpose for the Body of Christ follows:  Eph. 4:12:  "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:” The question is then, how long will these gifts be necessary?  Are any of these gifts intended to be permanent?  Eph. 4:13 states: “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ…” The obvious is no!  There is a time-line that God intends to follow.

The contemporary church is like a dismembered body with only the Head functioning precisely as designed.  There are many non-functioning parts strewn about.  Jesus, the Head, has been patiently waiting for His body to come together in order for it to move and do His will.  As the five-fold becomes active, the Body will obey and do the Father’s will.  When this begins to occur it will not take long for the Father’s will to be completed.  The Father has prepared the bride and she is ready for the Bridegroom.  Jesus is the Bridegroom and we are His body.  We are ready for the wedding day.

When we reach “the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (His Body functioning together) the five-fold ministry will be unnecessary.  We will be in the place where the finger does not say to the leg, “I don’t need you.”  We will be fully functional and focused only on His agenda.  When the Head gives instructions the body does what it is told to do.  All parts move toward the same goal seeking to accomplish the vision.  So it is with the Body of Christ.

Are you a vital functional member in the Body of Christ?  Take this information to the Lord and ask Him.  Please don’t accept or reject this information before you hear from the Father.  It is much too pivotal a Truth to ignore.

Spiritual Gifts

In the early church there was no misunderstanding concerning the subject of spirituals or spiritual gifts because they operated in the gifts just like Jesus.  See Acts 1 – 4.  Paul says this in 1 Cor. 12:1:  “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.  The translators added the word gifts.  Paul knew we needed to know what spirituals are about.  Paul goes on to categorize these supernatural endowments and manifestations into three categories.

·        1 Cor. 12:4:  “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.  The word gift as used here is the Greek word Charismata, which we know as charisma; or the unction to function, i.e., our motivational gift.  This gift is placed within each person by our heavenly Father if not at birth, then at the time of our new birth.  Romans 12:6-8 list the seven motivational gifts and Romans 12:9-15 define their characteristics.

·        1 Cor. 12:5:  “And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.”  The Greek word for administrations is “diakonia” which means service or ministry gift.   Eph. 4:11 lists the five gifts God gave to the church.  Their special function: to equip the saints for the work of the ministry.  They will be valid and fully functional until we all come into the unity of the faith to the fullness of the stature of Christ.

·        1 Cor. 12:6:  “And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.  The word operations refers to the effect or the working of gifts.  In other words what the gift is doing and how is it affecting a person or people.

·        1 Cor. 12:7:  “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.” The word manifestation is the exhibition or expression of a gift(s).  The result of which is determined by God and executed by the Holy Spirit.  It is given to benefit an individual or a group.  The final result is always edification of the Body.

This chart explains the gifts visually.

Many sincere believers have lumped everything into one category called gifts. This results in much confusion and error.  In an upcoming book entitled, “Believers Boot Camp – The Foundation” a more extensive discussion of spirituals will take place; both in definition and exploring their intended function.

Present these things to the Lord and ask Him to direct you in discovering how you are motivated (by Him) and what ministry call He has in store for you.  But leave the manifestation or the result to Him.

The First Lie

Let’s look at this familiar story recorded in the book of Genesis for it tells us of a lie that has been accepted as truth.  This lie became the faulty foundation for doctrine and mindsets believers follow today.

Gen. 2:16-17:  “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.   The Lord God was serious when He told man to not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.  He knew the Father-son relationship would end and man would be spiritually separated from Himself.  Gen. 2:25:  “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Gen. 3:2-5:  “And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:  For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.  The woman was told if they ate of the tree they would die.  Then the serpent comes and says, “You shall not die.”  Then a lie is interjected: “Your eyes will be opened.”

Let’s pause and evaluate what happened up to this point. God told man one thing and the serpent said something different.  One is not telling the truth - either God or the serpent.  We know the devil is capable of lying because that is his nature.  Jesus said in John 8:44b-45:  (Speaking of the devil.) … there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.  And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.”

In Genesis 3:2-5 we see everything the devil said was accurately stated.  But what he said is not a statement of Truth for there is no truth in him.  This is also true concerning the devil’s conversation with Jesus in Matthew 4.  The devil said that he would give Jesus the kingdoms of this world if He would worship him.  The devil does not own the kingdoms of this world.  He must steal from man in order to have any control or power.

Have you believed the words of the devil “your eyes will be opened” over the Word of the Lord “you shall surely die”?  Mankind either died or their eyes were opened, but not both.  We know one statement is a lie.  Have you made decisions and built doctrines on this lie?  It is time to repent and change our thinking and let the Lord show us what we must do.

Take these things to the Father and ask Him to give you direction and Revelation on this important topic.
